The church was built by Lady le Fleming who laid the foundation stone in July 1823.
Lady le Fleming built the church at a cost of £1,500.
The church was opened on Christmas Day 1824 and consecrated on August 26th 1825. There is no consecrated ground here but in the year 2000 a Millennium Garden was created on the surrounding land.
