The Glen Rothay Hotel & Badger Bar

A grade II listed building dating back to 1624, beside Rydal Water. The rich history of this fine building has beckoned it's visitors return for many years, whether for a leisurely drink in the Badger Bar, or to stay a while longer as overnight guests for a peaceful break.

In the early 19th Century when the Wordsworths lived at Rydal Mount, the house was known as Ivy Cottage. Earlier still, when it was built in 1625, it was known as David's Inn.
